Hey Ralle community,
Thanks for being a part of our journey, and opening up our first rendition of our new newsletter!
I’m Ella, and I’ve recently joined the Ralle team as a marketing lead, alongside another new marketing teammate, Jackie. We are dedicated to building out our NYC and Twin Cities communities and grow our events through different avenues. I’m so energized by what I’ve gotten to work on both virtually and in-person for the team, and I can’t wait to keep seeing these accessible and fun community workouts come to life – I feel so lucky to be here!
For those of you that might be new here, let’s bring you up to speed.
Ralle is a community-based fitness and wellness collective offering outdoor events in New York City and Minneapolis. We put on events that are free and open to all - creating accessible ways to move, connect, and build community.
Our goal is simple – to provide accessible movement, authentic connection, and free classes to the places we call home.
We wanted to create this newsletter to get in touch directly with the amazing people that have already shown up for us - to our yoga classes, run clubs, hikes, social events and more. Ultimately, we want this newsletter to be all about you. Our members, our instructors, our partners, and everything else that keeps us in motion. We’ll share our favorite movement practices, mental health tips, personal stories from our team, and exciting offerings to the Ralle community and beyond. If you’re an OG Ralle member, you might remember Ralle Words as a space that began with Rory O’Driscoll’s 30-day journaling challenge in January 2025. What started as Rory’s entries turned into people from all over sharing their own experiences, moments from their journals, and the ways they connected with his words.
Now, as this space shifts to highlight our community, its members, and the people behind the movement, our goal is to carry forward the same sentiment and authenticity that defined Ralle Words from the beginning.
Meet the Team
Eli (Co-founder, CEO & Creative Director) grew up in Minneapolis, MN before heading east to the University of New Hampshire, where he spent five years playing collegiate soccer and earning a degree in sociology and an MBA. He loves cool fall mornings, cafes, a specific bành mì spot in the East Village, post dinner digestion walks, and people to laugh with. (Fun fact — drag queen Sasha Velour was his babysitter when he was young).
Luke (Co-founder, COO & Head of Partnerships) is a Middlebury alum who spent his college years chasing the ball in the Northeast, playing soccer at both UNH and Middlebury. Born and raised in Southern California, he grew up a classic skater/surfer grom–always on the move and ready to jump into any sport in reach. Now based in Manhattan, Luke brings the same welcoming, down-to-earth energy from the skate and surf community into everything he does, aiming to create spaces where people feel supported, connected, and a part of something bigger. A typical weekend for Luke? An early morning workout, a kickabout with friends, cooking up a homemade meal, and of course, joining in on any and all Ralle events.
Liam (Minneapolis Community Lead) graduated from St. Olaf in 2024 and has continued working and coaching there while returning to live in Southwest Minneapolis where he grew up. He loves running the lakes, is highly competitive in Fantasy Premier League and is a firm believer that Pumphouse Creamery is the best ice cream shop in the Twin Cities.
Michael (Product & TC Community Builder) is a Minneapolis native with family ties to NYC and decided to move back to Minneapolis after graduating. He enjoys a mix of endurance sports and strength training, and his perfect weekend morning involves a workout with friends followed by a meal together.
Ella (Marketing Director) is a Tulane Alumni and a Southern California Native with a deep love for the community she’s connected with in Brooklyn. Her love for movement started early with dance and volleyball and has since blossomed into an exploration of cycling, yoga, strength training, and more. For Ella, the ideal Saturday morning ritual involves a homemade cappuccino, a great playlist, and getting lost in a book at the park.
Jackie (Marketing Associate) is working on social media strategy. She’s originally from Arlington, VA and moved to Santa Barbara to study at UCSB for her undergrad. She now lives in Manhattan, pursuing her Master’s degree in Integrated Marketing at NYU. On a typical Saturday you can most likely find her taking a SoulCycle class, getting coffee with friends, spending time outside and listening to good music.

Instructor spotlight | Sally Lee
Meet Sally Lee! Sally is one of Ralle’s amazing yoga instructors. We spoke with Sally last week and got some insight into her background in teaching yoga and some of her New York favorites.
How did you first get into teaching yoga? After Covid-19, I was looking for a sense of community so I decided to try out this yoga studio down the street from me and I never looked back. I grew up playing a lot of sports so yoga was never new to me, but this was the first time I was introduced to different styles of Power Yoga and I was hooked. After a few months of me consistently going to this yoga studio, I decided to bite the bullet and pursue teacher training! It’s easily one of the best decisions I’ve made and I’m so grateful to be able to share my passion for yoga with others.
What is your go-to song for a yoga sculpt class? For a yoga sculpt class, I love playing “Pump the Breaks” or “Rhyme Dust” by Dom Dolla!
Describe your teaching style in three words. Powerful, dynamic, and fun!
Aside from yoga, what are your favorite ways to unwind? Outside of yoga, I love going on long walks around my neighborhood or trying new restaurants/coffee shops with friends!
What’s your favorite NYC fall activity? Honestly, my favorite NYC fall activity is grabbing coffee/pastries at my favorite bakery (L’Appartement 4F) in the morning and exploring new neighborhoods that I haven’t been to! Fall is such a beautiful time to just pick a neighborhood and bop around/explore because the leaves are changing and the vibes are just cozy!
