Hey Friends,
I just started the Summer Motherhood & Wholeness Circle. Feels potent already. The first insight I shared in circle just feels too important for all the women out there navigating motherhood and oscillating in and out of cycles of depletion.
We’re exploring energy.
Not as a concept. As a lived experience in the body.
Energy is not something we manage.
It’s something for us to be in relationship with.
Many tantric traditions use the Sanskrit word Shakti for this living energy. Shakti isn’t just “feminine energy” in the modern context use it as. She is the dynamic creative power of existence itself that moves through all of us. This is the force that births galaxies, grows forests, digests your food, breaks your heart open, and inspires poetry.
Joy is Shakti moving one way.
Grief is Shakti moving another.
Anger is concentrated Shakti.
Creativity is Shakti.
Fear is Shakti contracted.
Ecstasy is Shakti expanded.
These are all ways that energy moves through us. How much shifts just opening up to the wholeness of our emotional experience. That emotions are just energy in flow (if we allow it).
What if the practice isn’t to chase high vibrations or eliminate certain energies.
What if the practice is to recognize every movement as sacred and learn to meet it consciously.
Energy is like water.
If the river flows freely, it nourishes everything it touches - even the grief.
If you dam it, the water becomes stagnant.
If you force it, it floods.
The work is to become intimate enough with its currents that you can ride them without being swept away.
And in motherhood, so many women have been taught to override themselves.
To push through exhaustion.
To ignore resentment.
To suppress grief because someone needs a snack, a ride, a hug.
Eventually we stop noticing our own inner weather until it arrives as an explosion, shutdown, or numbness.
And that’s exactly why Summer Motherhood & Wholeness circle exists - to bring these practices specifically into the context of motherhood.
Tending to our energy was always something we were meant to learn in maidenhood. And how important this foundation becomes for motherhood. So many women who never learned it find out how hard it is to figure out while they’re already in the thick of it. And how deeply necessary it becomes.
Motherhood is not just the initiation of becoming a mother. It’s an invitation to step into the energy of matriarch. To become the conscious tender of your own vitality, your home, your lineage. And that requires a woman who is in relationship with her own energy. Not managing it. Not overriding it. Tending it.
We so easily mistake the management and suppression of our emotions as the goal. And sometimes that is better than going off the handle. And it’s also a more sophisticated form of bypassing. The trick is to come back to it. We can create distance from the feeling and call it growth. And sometimes that distance is exactly the space we need to go inward. And at some point, the energy needs to move.
And in motherhood it’s even more nuanced because we are navigating something that is meant to take us to our edges. The edges of our regulation, the edges of our patience, the edges of our capacity. And we need the skill of attunement to our own energetics.
How to tend your energy while raising small humans.
How to notice the leak before you’re empty.
How to stay connected to your aliveness when everything around you is asking you to abandon it.
Because I don’t believe we were ever meant to have the full capacity to hold it all. Or to stay regulated during every tantrum. We are meant to have better skills of attuning to our edges — so we know how to tend, when to ask for help, when to step away, when to take a break.Things we are exploring in Summer Circle: tantra, Human Design, pleasure, and how your energy is designed to move and all through the lens of your actual life as a mother.
I’m also experimenting with a new format to honor the rhythms of summer. No live calls. Every week I drop a voice note, short video, or practice into our group chat. You engage when it fits. There’s an optional closing circle on September 11 for anyone who wants to come together live.
I’m keeping the circle open for one more week. $111 to join. We’re just getting started.
