I disagree, because when I look back at my work from less than a year ago, I'm embarrassed by how much the writing sucks. Of course, I'm proud of how much I've improved, but I can't resist the urge to correct the mistakes of my earlier work.
The only thing stopping me from improving is my lack of time. If I put the time in now, I'll spend less time obsessing about how much better it could have been. I need to get as close to perfect as possible. I'm not writing for you, I'm writing for me.
