Emirates First Class & How to Book With Points in 2026

Emirates flies two flagship First Class cabins, and they are not the same experience.

One is the A380 with the onboard shower and the bar. The other is the newer Boeing 777 “Game Changer” suite, which is the most beautiful cabin I’ve ever flown. Both options offer unlimited caviar and Dom Pérignon, of course.

Here’s what each is like, and then we’ll cover how to book First on points in 2026 without Emirates elite status.

This is the perhaps the most famous one. The shower, the bar onboard, the double-decker plane. If you’ve seen an Emirates first class photo online, it was almost certainly this cabin.

It’s beautiful to fly. The suite gives you plenty of privacy, the caviar is exactly what you’re hoping for, and the service is fantastic. The onboard shower is the standout. You get a private spa bathroom with heated floors at 40,000 feet.

Then there’s the bar which you share with business class. You can get up, stand around with a drink, and mingle with other passengers.

The newer Boeing 777 Game Changer suite is a different level. It feels more grand, and there are far fewer seats in the cabin, so it’s quieter and more private from the moment you step on.

A few things set it apart. Floor to ceiling fully enclosed suites, with only 6 seats in the cabin. You control the temperature and the lighting inside your own suite.

The middle suites don’t have windows, so Emirates gave them virtual windows instead, screens that show a real-time view of what’s outside. I was shocked at how realistic they looked!

Everything else, the caviar, the Dom Pérignon, the service, is the same first class standard. It’s the suite itself that makes this one special.

Try both in your lifetime if you can! And it really depends on the route you’re flying as to which you’ll be able to experience.

The A380 is an icon. The shower and the bar are experiences on their own, and it’s the cabin most people picture when they think Emirates First. The Game Changer is the more refined, more private, more exclusive suite. Different reasons to love each.

The catch with both is the same: getting into Emirates First on points got harder in 2026.

For years, the simplest way into Emirates first class on points wasn’t through Emirates at all. It was through Qantas.

You’d transfer points to Qantas Frequent Flyer and book Emirates first as a partner award, no Emirates status needed.

That door didn’t close completely, but it certainly narrowed. As of February 18, 2026, you need Qantas Silver status or higher to book Emirates first class reward seats with Qantas points.

Meaning, most of us lost access entirely. On top of that, Qantas raised the points cost on Emirates awards by around 20% from March 31, 2026.

Emirates’ own program tightened too. Booking first class outright with Skywards miles now requires Skywards elite status. No status, no direct first class award.

So both of the obvious paths now have a status gate.
