Hello, friends!
It’s less than a month before the print edition of my second Golden Girls mystery - Death on the Lanai - publishes (on June 2nd)… and the audiobook is already available!
If you’ve ever asked yourself what it would be like if the characters from the Golden Girls stepped into the world of Clue or Knives Out, this is the book for you. In Death on the Lanai, Blanche takes the spotlight… which, to be honest, is her favorite place to be. If you haven’t already pre-ordered from your bookseller of choice, this is the perfect time to show a little bit of love for everyone’s favorite, fabulous foursome!

I made three unboxing videos for Death on the Lanai—one when I got my advanced reader’s copies, one for finished books… and one because I saw a “Big Daddy” pizza box that was too good to pass up :)
If you’d like to help spread the word about the series—I want to keep writing these as long as they’ll let me!—one easy way is to like and share your favorite…
You can also share this email with a friend to help spread the word - thank you!
While the print and ebook editions hit shelves on June 2nd, audiobook readers are in luck and can get an early listen of Death on the Lanai (thanks to my publisher for getting the early buzz machine going!).
And for fans of the audiobooks, Yvonne Newman—the beloved voice of Murder by Cheesecake—is back again and getting rave reviews:
It is so lovely to see my Young Adult novel, Nothing Bad Happens Here (set on the beach in Nantucket) making librarian Summer Reading lists!
Nothing Bad Happens Here is a little darker than my Golden Girls series—if you’re a fan of beach reads and just a splash of mythology, this one is for you or the teen readers in your life. It’s seashells and selkies with a hint of danger beneath the surface, and if you’re reading it yourself, it will definitely make you feel like a moody teenager again!
I will be going on tour for this book—it’s complicated to go everywhere I’ve gotten requests for because I’m juggling the deadline for my next book (!) and have a little baby Courage at home, but I’ll be sending another email with tour dates soon, so watch this space!
If you’re a bookseller or librarian—or if you run a book festival—do let me know if you’d like me to come to your town so I can start planning out the rest of the year :)
Until next time, stay golden!
Your friend,
Rachel
