Looking for some advice and coping mechanisms from other's. I wanted to write this post to get myself to reflect a bit about my addiction, and maybe others can relate. Started smoking nicotine around 16, and at the time I had no idea how addictive it is. I'm in college and have tried to go cold turkey a couple times, but this year I want to be fully committed. I think it has almost been 2 weeks so…
My husband and I both quit 2 months ago. The first month was hard, just getting through and dealing with brain fog. Once through the worst, we wanted to redecorate as we had been smoking inside for years. It has been an amazing, sometimes shocking experience to clean the sticky stinky tar off everything. I could never go back after seeing it. submitted by /u/PsychologicalSpeed [link] [comments]
Around 2008 - 2010 there were major advancements made by the big tobacco companies in the way cigarettes are made. The same biological, chemical and medical research approach that goes into making medicine, is also used by tobacco companies to make the chemical compounds that go into cigarettes. At the end of the day, it's all about the result of a chemical reaction. They were not made safer or…
Flat, no emotions, rude, cold, no patience (he was always the kindest ever). He was taking like 1 Velo can a day (like 300 cigarettes a day) in the last months, and he started his nicotine addiction when he was 15 years old. He will be back one day? He stopped because of me (I value a lot a healthy lifestyle, but never asked him it) but he got hypertension and other problems, and suddenly just…
Ive been having 1-2 cigarettes a day for the past 7 years, which increases when i drink with my friends. Its weirdly hard where I have convinced myself that since I work out regularly, this is earned. As if it offsets which is BS. Its such a pavlovian wiring that I have to have the one cigarette atleast with my evening coffee. Ive been smoking now for 18 years, and I can feel that Im approaching…
Feeling great, the withdrawals are over and its looking pretty good. Not smoking has caused me to go heavier on the snacks which im not happy with, but its much better than smoking 15 cigs a day. Also for people looking to quit or just started, when you get past day 1-2, if you do smoke, it is not nearly as pleasurable as you think it'll be. When i lapsed, i thought the cig would've been delicious…
Hi, I've been using snus for about a year because my ex always used it. Now I want to stop, though. Yesterday I threw away all the cans, but when the craving got too strong, I looked for some old, dried-out snus and used it today (I think it has almost no nicotine left). Do yall have any tips how to deal with it better? Or some things that can give me the feeling of snus submitted by /u/yellowmks…
I have been cutting down on nicotine ( cigarettes )and feeling anhedonia is killing me, I am not unhappy all the time, but I just do not feel any pleasure I am used to constantly giving myself some form of stimulus through my phone, movies, reels, games, smoking, etc, so all things in life seem so dull without smoking. My food does not taste as good, my movies are not as interesting, and I find…
Took me 5 days to get through the whole pack and now I’m afraid due to my addictive personality that I’ll actually start enjoying them. The first 5-6 cigs were very unpleasant with a strong head buzz and slight discomfort. Just smoked my last one and it honestly feels like a great escape/something to do but I don’t want to go down this path. Any advice from this community would go a long way for…
