There's a confirmed Linux kernel regression affecting older AMD graphics cards (such as Tonga R9 380, Polaris RX 400/500, etc.). When the system suspends, the video signal fails to re-initialize upon resume, leaving a black screen or garbled display that forces a hard reboot. About 8 years ago, I pulled this Dell Inspiron 1545 out of retirement as an experiment. It spent the first 2 years of its second life running OPNsense 24/7 as my firewall.
