What up y'all? I used to be a huge DCI nerd. Grew up in Chicago and idolized the cavaliers. I wasnt good enough to march the corps, but I was involved with the inaugural year of GREEN THUNDER PERCUSSION in 2008 (we sucked). For some reason, my mom preserved all this stuff. Are woodwind instruments owned by the corps? Is any kid out there with a wooden clarinet or oboe? I could see wanting to use your own horn... but when bassoons inevitably show up I can't imagine someone out there with their own Fox 240 or whatever. I was wondering if any of the World Class Corps producing their own Multi-Cam Finals performances. After destroying my face for 70 odd sum days I have found it a struggle to play like I did before I left for tour. My tone is a lot brighter and I cannot play for as long as I used to.
