Problem with flipping along the local x asis (shape key)

I have a problem with flipping a shape key. I created a blinking animation for my right eye and copied the shape key called "closed L" using the new combined method, and I got key 2. When I click flip along the X axis in it to make the same animation for my left eye, something happens and everything changes completely instead of just creating the same animation for the second eye (it's all shown…

curve deform and soft body is making me go crazy....pls help!

i have a soft body with pin group hooked to the empties on the wheels and the spheres are vertex parented to the soft body vertexes that arent pinned. the curve is hooked to the spheres and the empties on the wheels, but each time the tank moves around, the curve and softbody go crazy and its destroying me since ive already spent too much time trying to fix this (about 5 hours) the cube and bottom…

Destructive slice with Bool Tool cutting but also leaving full geometry behind?

If I let it apply all modifiers it works fine but I want to keep my modifiers and only apply the booleans this happens. The object on the right of the selected area is the fully intact object I just cut overlapping the sliced part, but it should be two separate not overlapping objects. submitted by /u/weirdanimal_s [link] [comments]

Help on how to model curved/bend surfaces

I started learning blender a few days ago and followed some of Andrew's tutorials, including chair one (which is ironic), so I decided to try modeling something by my own................... And I picked up this vintage chair! I think the front legs are fine, specially cus I'm aiming to model stuff like the PS1-era pre-rendered backgrounds (RE1, specially) so it doesn't have to be super high…

Why does this keep happening when I add a solidify modifier?

I am curious why I keep getting this whenever I apply the solidify modifier. I realize I could probably model this with a cube, but I'm learning a specific workflow, so, I would like to solve this particular issue, so I know what to do in the future. Scale and rotation are both applied. I've tried flipping normals, then inverting them, that didn't help. I've also rebuilt this shape a couple of…

I have an idea for an add-on, but zero idea on how to make it

The idea is that you follow along Youtube tutorials while in Blender because using split screen is not enough for me. Not to mention that I can barely see anything and I have to squint. Even if I watched a tutorial on how to make a custom add-on, I don't know what I'm supposed to fit my own needs. Also, it would be much appreciated it if you guys challenged me instead of handing it to me. I'm…

What type of rig is this and how can I pose it?

I haven't seen this type of rig before, and I am not sure how to pose it. Either the joint moves and the mesh doesn't follow it, or I try to move a joint, but it's locked in place. The only ones I can move are the lines and boxes that show up on the first picture. Usually, I work with MMD (Miku Miku Dance) models, and those have basic armatures to work with. This is clearly something different, so…

How do I array a grate without using Boolean and messing up the topology?

I want to add the grate on the tea tray spoiler from older 911s but I don't just want to Boolean because I still have to model the air channel and work with the topology. How can I recreate this effect? submitted by /u/DungusMcBungus [link] [comments]

Weird Shading Artifacts

Not sure how to fix these, I've already tried recalculating normals, merging by distance, shade autosmooth + tweaking angles. I am new to blender and help would be greatly appreciated. submitted by /u/shingover [link] [comments]
