Alice in Chains (AiC) is an American rock band from Seattle, Washington, formed in 1987 by guitarist and vocalist Jerry Cantrell and drummer Sean Kinney, who later recruited bassist Mike Starr and lead vocalist Layne Staley. Starr was replaced by Mike Inez in 1993. William DuVall joined the band in 2006 as co-lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, replacing Staley, who had died in 2002. The band took its name from Staley's previous group, the glam metal band Alice N' Chains.

The Unplugged version of Frogs is far more haunting than Nutshell unplugged.

Don't get me wrong, both of them are good songs and sound good unplugged. The vocals in Frogs unplugged make it more haunting than Nutshell in my opinion. Hearing Layne sing "Why's it have to be this way?" with those vocals gets me every time. Nonetheless, I do think Nutshell was a good opener for that show, it really helped set the mood for the rest of the performance in my opinion. submitted by…

Check out the Grunge Mart in Pacific Place

If you’re in Seattle I highly recommend making the trip to Pacific Place to see Karen Mason Blair’s Grunge Mart. She’s absolute gem and has the best stories to share of her time photographing not only AiC but Soundgarden, Nirvana, etc. submitted by /u/IHaveRandomInquiries [link] [comments]

I Can't Remember(FaceLift)1990

Ok, which one of you did this?

In all seriousness, saw this yesterday on twitter and thought was kinda weird that RS put Alice over Nirvana in the 90's. Today I saw they got a community post saying it's fake. I'm not gonna lie, I much rather go with the fake ranking, what you guys think?? submitted by /u/heldersamps [link] [comments]

Jerry Cantrell Handwriting Analysis from 1996

I scanned this several years ago in an old magazine I bought (I used to collect them/scan articles and pictures from them). I can't remember the name of the woman who did this or even what magazine it's from. Still a really interesting read and thought others might get a kick out of it. submitted by /u/codeaires [link] [comments]
