I wasn't fussed about the eclipse this evening. I saw the one in 1999 on TV in the caravan in Scotland we used to go on holiday to every year, which is probably the safest and best way to view an eclipse. Plus I tried to make the pinhole viewer thing the last time and it was a disaster.
...but I keep doing it anyway. I have stayed indoors during a lot of the heatwave this week because of the smoke from the wildfires at Dovestone reservoir and Tintwistle. The smoke has been spreading over Greater Manchester and even going as far as the Wirral. It is a bank holiday here today and it is hot. 32 degrees to be precise, a record for here at this time of year. Usually whenever a bank holiday comes around here it’s raining.
