*explained to my friends over drinks… thank me later :))

You know how people say everyone should have these friends in life:

a doctor, a lawyer, a tax consultant or a policeman?

Say “doctor” - essential.

Say “lawyer” - irritating but serious.

Say “tax advisor” - necessary and “painful”.

Say “Quality Manager”...

and suddenly everyone looks like you just said you professionally inspect yogurt lids.

Sounds familiar? Yeah, I thought so :)

Most people have no idea what Quality Managers actually do.

So let me explain it in normal human language.

1. asks if the moving truck is taller than the parking entrance.

to prevent you ending up in a viral TikTok video.

2. asks whether anyone told Grandma the restaurant changed 👵

3. reads the instructions before the furniture becomes abstract art.

remember those three screws left and a bookshelf leaning like it has personal problems?

4. checks whether the babysitter knows the emergency number

“She seems nice” is not a crisis plan.

5. checks the weather before the picnic.

6. ask if someone actually pressed ‘confirm order’.

A shocking amount of adult life is built on assumptions.

7. notices the wedding venue has 60 chairs for 84 guests.

8. checks whether the birthday cake has nuts before serving it to 25 people.

9. asks whether the passport is still valid before the airport outfit is discussed.

Priorities are fascinating.

10. checks whether the tickets are really book to Australia, not Austria

Tiny detail. Massive emotional impact.

11. checks whether Airbnb actually has heating.

12. asks where the spare key is before the door shuts.

13. actually checks if the extension cord can reach the stage.

Dream big. Measure once.

14. knows the difference between ‘packed’ and ‘ready to leave the house without going back upstairs six times’

That gap ruins mornings. And businesses.

15. asks who is driving before the fourth drink arrives.

Unless you got a policeman friend?? 😎

16. in business - helps companies avoid becoming a group chat at 11:47 p.m.

You know the one:

“Who sent this?”

“Why is the customer angry?”

“Can someone call me?”

17. notices the tiny typo before it becomes a shipment to the wrong continent.

18. stops people from using duct tape as a business model.

19. and makes sure the company can repeat success without needing the exact same people, mood, moon phase and miracle.

  • Once is luck.

  • Twice is interesting.

  • Every time is Quality.

In Life:

figuratively.. and practically speaking - a quality manager is that friend who checks if the parachute is packed while everyone else is excited about the jump.

Apparently “detail-oriented” makes sense :)
