As we move through this season of transition and growth, I continue to feel deep gratitude for this community and the shared commitment that brings us together.
I’m excited to share two important updates with you.
This week, we officially launch our new name: the Perinatal Mental Health Alliance of Arizona (PMHAAZ)! This transition reflects the same collaborative statewide network at the heart of our work, and our continued commitment to providing trusted support and resources across Arizona.
I also want to share that my last day as Executive Director will be June 30. It has been an incredible privilege to serve in this role and to be part of the collective work we have built together across the state.
I am deeply grateful for the relationships, trust, and shared purpose that have shaped this journey. I remain inspired by the ways this community continues to show up—with care, collaboration, and a shared vision for stronger systems of support for Arizona families.
Thank you for being such an essential part of this work. I look forward to continuing to celebrate all that we are building together.
With gratitude,
Dr. Katie Mommaerts
You may notice something new… our name!
While our name has evolved, our mission has not. We remain connected to Postpartum Support International as the PSI AZ Chapter and continue to provide the same trusted perinatal mental health resources and support for families and providers across Arizona.
This new identity more clearly reflects the collaborative alliance we’ve always been — a statewide network working together to ensure no parent navigates the perinatal journey alone.

June invites us to reflect, honor, and raise awareness across several important observances that touch individuals, families, and communities.
This month, we recognize LGBTIQ+ Pride Month🌈, celebrating identity, resilience, and the importance of affirming, inclusive care. We also observe National Indigenous History Month🪶, honoring the histories, cultures, and strength of Indigenous peoples, and the ongoing need for culturally responsive support.
June also highlights PTSD Awareness Month🧠 and PTSD Awareness Day💙, bringing attention to trauma, healing, and the importance of accessible, trauma-informed care.
We also acknowledge Father’s Day👔, honoring fathers and father figures while recognizing the many forms caregiving can take.
Together, these observances remind us of the importance of compassion, equity, and connection in supporting the wellbeing of all individuals and families.
The Lifeline also routes callers in need of support directly to the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline. You’ll find a one-stop shop partner toolkit for social media and print materials to promote awareness and use of the 1-833-TLC-MAMA Hotline here.

This month has been full of connection, collaboration, and meaningful opportunities to engage across Arizona.
We were grateful to join the 4th Trimester Kickball event, bringing together community in a fun and supportive space. We also had the honor of participating in the National Association of Perinatal Social Workers 2026 Annual Conference in Nashville, TN, as a keynote speaker, and sharing at the 2026 Arizona Rural Health Conference in Flagstaff, AZ, both powerful opportunities to elevate conversations around perinatal and maternal mental health.
In addition, we continue our ongoing work through the Maternal and Infant Mental Health Task Force meeting hosted by ADHS, and appreciated the opportunity to connect with partners at the 2026 Provider Connection Expo hosted by Prevent Child Abuse Arizona.
We are energized by these continued spaces for learning, partnership, and shared commitment to supporting Arizona families.
With Gratitude,
Dr. Katie Mommaerts
