Here’s the difference: while Democrats have worked to lower drug costs and pushed for transparency in drug manufacturing, Trump and Republicans have done the opposite, backroom dealing with manufacturers and driving up the cost of health care nationwide.

Democrats:

Gave Medicare the power to negotiate lower drug prices
Capped insulin at $35/month for seniors
Capped out-of-pocket costs at $2,000/year
Saved seniors and taxpayers billions on cancer, arthritis, and autoimmune disease drugs

Trump:

Made backroom deals that boost drug company stocks
Bought stocks to enrich himself from his handouts to drugmakers
Created loopholes for Big Pharma to escape price negotiations
Rolled back seniors’ savings
Promised to lower drug prices “1,000 percent” — while hiking costs for thousands of seniors
