Migrations from the American South 1854-1971: Black Lives in Motion

My ancestors and some living family members, including me, were Seasonal Migrants (moving between states for work/education) and Permanent Migrants (moved to new cities/states to begin new lives and remained). My intent is to focus on the ancestors with possible essays on living members ( with their permission) who moved after marriage/death to begin again). I will also write 2/3 articles on my own seasonal moves for education/work/family.

My ancestors were seasonal and permanent migrants. They moved from Virginia to Georgia (1854-1870); Georgia to Alabama (1885-1905); from Georgia to New York back to Massachusetts back to Georgia (1912-1918) - Seasonal; Georgia to South Carolina to Florida to Georgia) - Seasonall; Alabama to Ohio ((1920-1940); Georgia to New York (1944-1961); Georgia to Pennsylvania to New York (1966-1975).
