Penguin Random House has an exciting job opening for an Editorial Assistant for the following imprints: Viking, Penguin Books, Penguin Life, and Penguin Classics. The Assistant will provide administrative and editorial support to an Executive Editor and a Senior Editor, and will work on a bestselling, prize-winning array of literary fiction, translated literature, upmarket to commercial genre fiction (science fiction, fantasy, horror, and romance), narrative non-fiction, wellness/inspiration, and literary classics.

We are looking for a detail-oriented self-starter who reads voraciously across a diverse and eclectic range of categories and has a strong knowledge of the literary canon, a particular enthusiasm for genre fiction, and a keen interest in writing from around the world.

The Editorial Assistant will work closely with two hiring editors responsible for acquiring and publishing such titles as The Perfect Nanny by Leila Slimani, Diary of a Void by Emi Yagi, Ikigai by Héctor García and Francesc Miralles, The Art of Simple Living by Shunmyo Masuno and more.

Editorial Assistant, Clarkson Potter (Hybrid)

Clarkson Potter, a leading publisher of illustrated lifestyle books in the categories of Food & Drink, Design, Photography, Gift & Pop Culture, and Entertainment, seeks an Editorial Assistant to join our team. The assistant provides administrative and editorial support to an Executive Editor and Senior Editor on culture titles, cookbooks, and cocktail and beverage books as well as some administrative support to the Editor-in-Chief and an Editorial Director.

This position offers the opportunity for growth and to learn about the editorial process and the inner workings of a publishing office. No previous publishing experience is required. 

At Clarkson Potter, the Editorial Assistant acts as a liaison between editors, authors, agents, and the many different departments within the publishing group. Daily responsibilities include all-around project support for the editors, calendar and meeting management, reviewing and evaluating proposals, and drafting sales copy.

Production Editor (Open to Remote)

The Corporate Bookmaking team seeks a Production Editor to support the Random House Publishing Group and to oversee a variety of titles from manuscript to bound book. Founded in 1925, Random House is the home to award-winning, critically acclaimed, bestselling fiction and non-fiction authors, including Lee Child, Ta-Nehisi Coates, Jodi Picoult, George R. R. Martin, Emma Cline, and Jon Meacham.

The Inklore imprint is home to licensed and original graphic novels, manga, and manhwa projects such as the Lore Olympus series and the Under the Oak Tree novels and comics. Boom! Studios publishes monthly comics, collected editions, and original graphic novels, with series that include Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, BRZRKR, and Something Is Killing the Children.

Reporting to the Director, the Production Editor, working closely with the editorial, design, and production groups, will be responsible for handling a list of graphic novels and comics, as well as a range of titles across the Random House breadth, including originals, translations, and scroll-to-print titles (including some 4-color), from manuscript to bound book/ePub.

Senior Level

Associate Manager, Advertising (Open to Remote)

The Associate Manager, Advertising supports the planning, execution, optimization, and reporting of advertising campaigns for Random House Children’s Books. Reporting to the Assistant Director, Advertising Strategy, this role partners closely with marketers, vendors, and the Penguin Random House Central Advertising Team to develop advertising recommendations, execute paid media campaigns, manage campaign operations, and analyze performance to drive awareness, audience growth, and book sales. The Associate Manager also supports advertising workflow improvements and helps ensure campaigns are executed efficiently and effectively.

RHCB is home to bestselling authors like Ms. Rachel, Holly Jackson, Nic Stone, Christopher Paolini, Philip Pullman, Nicola Yoon, Karen M. McManus and classic children’s brands like Magic Tree House, Dr. Seuss, Little Golden Books, and Sesame Street. The ideal candidate will have exceptional organization and administrative skills, attention to detail, and an interest in social media, digital marketing, advertising, and children’s book publishing.
