The subject of clearer labelling for AI-generated content is suddenly in the news.

The EU has just passed a law on this. Anthropic has begun watermarking its content as AI.

Should publishers start engaging with this issue?

Press Gazette has uncovered hundreds of examples of fake AI-generated content which has found its way onto reputable news websites via the PR industry.

Do you think better safeguards should be put in place?

Should publishers have policies in place to check for AI material and to inform readers when articles are AI-generated?

This survey will take a couple of minutes to fill out and everyone who does so will be sent a voucher giving you three months’ access to Press Gazette (provided you are not already a paying subscriber).

Everyone will also get sent the full survey results shared with them first.

Filling out this survey will also help inform Press Gazette’s reporting of this issue and, possibly, inform some exciting technology we are hoping to launch next month.

Thanks for your attention and please only fill out the survey if you work in the news/publishing industry.
