Three Most Interesting Deals

Volta ($299.4M from Altimeter, Andreessen Horowitz, Azora, NVIDIA): Volta is building AI cloud and data-center infrastructure at a moment when training and inference capacity is the binding constraint for frontier labs and enterprises. A ~$300M Series A co-led by Altimeter, Andreessen Horowitz, Azora, and NVIDIA stands out because it finances AI compute like critical industrial capacity—pairing top-tier software capital with the chipmaker whose GPUs define the stack.

Ore Energy ($43M from HV Capital, Plural): Ore Energy is building multi-day energy storage designed to keep renewables reliable when the wind and sun don’t cooperate. The interesting bit is the focus on “boring” economics—storage that can be deployed at grid scale without the cost curve and supply constraints that punish many long-duration approaches. As Europe tightens grid-balancing requirements and accelerates renewables buildout, multi-day storage is shifting from pilot projects to procurement conversations, and Ore is positioning itself for that step-change. The $43M Series A led by HV Capital and Plural gives it the runway to move from engineering proof to repeatable deployments.

Sapiom ($35M from Dragonfly): Sapiom builds the infrastructure layer that lets AI agents buy and sell things programmatically without turning payments, identity, and authorization into a security nightmare. As agentic workflows move from demos to real spend—booking, procurement, ad buying, and marketplace transactions—teams need auditable permissions, policy controls, and safer ways to let software act on behalf of a user or company. The company is riding a clear tailwind: commerce is becoming API-first again, but this time the “buyer” is software that needs guardrails and verifiable intent. Sapiom’s $35M Series A led by Dragonfly underscores how quickly agent commerce is becoming a real platform market.
