Poreč Waterfront Renovation Continues Along City Riva

The Poreč waterfront renovation is moving forward with a new phase that will further enhance the city’s popular seaside promenade. The next section of the project will upgrade the stretch between the Municipal Court and the local boat slipway, improving both the look and functionality of one of Poreč’s most visited coastal areas.

The planned works will cover 1,306 square metres of the waterfront. The goal is to modernize the promenade while preserving the recognizable character of Poreč’s historic shoreline.

The renovation includes installing natural stone paving over the existing concrete base. This traditional material matches the sections of the riva renovated in recent years and ensures durability and visual consistency along the coast.

Different sizes of natural stone slabs will form the new pedestrian surface. The design keeps a clear layout that separates the walking zone from areas where visitors can relax and spend time.

Along the promenade, the city will install benches surrounded by green islands with decorative planters. These landscaped areas will feature a mix of taller and lower Mediterranean plants, adding shade and greenery to the waterfront.

The promenade will remain accessible for pedestrians while still allowing passage for emergency and delivery vehicles when necessary.

The project also focuses on improving accessibility. Existing ramps and stairways will be upgraded to better accommodate people with disabilities and reduced mobility.

Once completed, the renewed section will blend seamlessly with the already restored parts of the riva. The long-term goal is to create a continuous, well-designed waterfront promenade that is comfortable, safe, and attractive for residents and tourists alike.

This phase forms part of a wider transformation of the area. Planned improvements nearby include the renovation of the Municipal Court building and structural upgrades to the city piers, which will further enhance this central part of Poreč’s coastline.
