A few years ago most Orthodox would have naïvely assumed that child sexual abuse by priests and the existence of gay priests and bishops was an exclusively Catholic Church problem. We now know that whatever happens within the Catholic Church also ineveitably occurs in the Orthodox Church too and that Orthodox clergy and hierarchy are not immune to these corruptions.
