I’m grateful to you, Dad for the tough lessons you taught me – to always be honest – especially within myself - about my true motives and thoughts. You never let me turn away from harsh truths and I learned to crave this thoroughness. You helped me develop xray vision to see into inner and outer worlds. I watched your deep wells of feelings and how these crushed you. But you held fast to being true. You were passionate - but this often switched to being punitive. I’m humbled to see that now I’m the reprimanding one. I can be so harsh, just like you. So I work to bring more compassion to myself and others. On this Father’s Day I recall the mystery of you, Dad - your mixture of weeds and wheat. I harvest one and burn the other for our transformation.
