Today we remember and honor the men and women who gave everything in service to this country we take for granted. Days like this are a reminder that freedom is not abstract. It is inherited, defended, and carried forward by people who choose responsibility when it matters most.
At PlebLab, we spend our days alongside builders. Founders, indie hackers, developers, operators, and creators who are willing to make something useful with their own hands.
But that spirit does not come from nowhere. It is shaped by a culture that values freedom, responsibility, resilience, and the courage to build in public. A culture where people are still free to speak, assemble, experiment, fail, try again, and turn small rooms into real movements.
Over the years, many people have come through PlebLab and carried that ethos with them long after they left the room. They have gone on to build companies, communities, tools, and movements of their own. That is what we are most grateful for.
PlebLab is not just a place where builders pass through. It is an institution where values are practiced, tested, and passed forward. The work continues through the people who carry it with them.
PlebLab has always been more than a physical hackerspace. It is a community accelerator, a builder network, and a place where people learn how to turn an idea into something real. Builders come through PlebLab to find community, sharpen their work, meet the right people, and define success on their own terms.
Substack gives us a new home base to bring that story together. It lets us share what is happening across PlebLab, Startup School, Startup Day, Bitcoin Builders Club, Open Hackerspace Day, our media work, and the wider Bitcoin builder ecosystem in one place. If you are reading this here, welcome. Subscribe, share it with a builder, and stay close to what comes next.
Expect more frequent founder updates, event announcements, builder videos, Startup School notes, Startup Day news, exclusive Bitcoin Builders Club releases, community recaps, and coverage of the Austin Bitcoin ecosystem as we continue documenting the people and projects moving through PlebLab.
Startup School Summer Session 2 is entering its final week for applications. The deadline is May 31. 👀
This session is for Bitcoin, Lightning, AI, and adjacent infrastructure builders who are ready to move from concept to traction with structure, accountability, and weekly momentum.
The program runs from June 15 to August 21st and is built for teams who are ready to ship every week, take feedback, sharpen their product, and become more serious founders by the end of the summer.
We have already seen a strong wave of interesting projects come through this cycle. Builders are working on real problems across Bitcoin, Lightning, AI, payments, infrastructure, media, developer tools, and founder services.
If you are still thinking about applying, this is the week.
We are also excited to keep building toward PlebLab Startup Day Guadalajara.
On August 20th and 21st, founders, investors, developers, operators, and Bitcoin builders will come together in Guadalajara, Jalisco, México for two days of startup energy, builder demos, hackathon momentum, and high signal conversations.
Day 1 will be a Bitcoin Lightning Hackathon.
Day 2 will be PlebLab Startup Day Guadalajara.
Startup Day is built around the people actually working on Bitcoin, Lightning, payments, infrastructure, founder tools, open source projects, and startup ideas that can potentially move from concept to traction.
And we are also proud to announce Gustavo J. F. Echaz, CEO and Founder of Aureo, as our keynote speaker.
Gustavo brings deep Bitcoin builder experience to the room. From co-founding Veriphi to contributing to Bitcoin Optech and now leading Aureo, he represents the kind of founder-first, technically grounded perspective that Startup Day is built for.
We believe Guadalajara has the right mix of technology, culture, talent, and local Bitcoin energy to make this moment special. Join us as we build, demo, connect, and help push the next wave of Bitcoin founders in Mexico.

All AI Startup Rodeo videos have now been uploaded to the PlebLab YouTube channel. With the final handful being released in June on our YouTube channel.
AI Startup Rodeo was one of the clearest signals we have seen this year that AI and Bitcoin are no longer separate conversations.
Builders are thinking about agents, payments, compute, Lightning, identity, data, and automation as one connected stack. That was the point of bringing everyone into the room during SXSW week.
Now the full archive is live.
If you missed the event, start watching through the talks and sessions. There is a lot in there for founders trying to understand where this next cycle is going.

We are also releasing the latest Bitcoin Builders Club session on Memorial Day.
Bitcoin Builders Club has become one of our favorite monthly rhythms in Austin. On June 15th, we will be coming up on the one year anniversary of the meetup, and it has grown into something really special.
The meetup format has stayed simple and consistent, bring together builders, founders, food, drinks, demos, questions, and real conversations. Every month, people show up to learn, share what they are working on, and help each other get better.
At its core, Bitcoin Builders Club is about consistency. People shipping in Bitcoin and Lightning, meeting in person, and building real relationships around the work.
The new video release is a great way to catch up if you could not make it out this past week.
The next Bitcoin Builders Club is happening June 15 at Capital Factory in Austin.
Come through if you are building in Bitcoin, Lightning, open source, AI, payments, infrastructure, media, or anything adjacent to the future we are all trying to push forward.

We are also working toward a special announcement in July.
Thank you for being part of this community, we are grateful you are here with us. Happy Memorial Day 🇺🇸 Stay free and Keep building.✌️
