Ok, so it’s that time of year in this part of the world… that being the yearly folk festival extravaganza (aka ‘Folk Week’) which takes place in my neck of the woods.
A couple of months back we had the jazz festival which is establishing itself in the town, and this event has gone on for over 70 years! So let’s dedicate this article and podcast in part to these shenanigans.
No need to go to deep into that here as I covered some of that in another article, which I ever so handily reference in the next section…
It just so happens that I have an article on this very subject! I wrote it in 2022 and added it to the Substack publication this week and it just gives an overview of the event and a couple of things that happened that year…
I’ve also added some SteemFest reflections. If you saw last week or have been following along, I posted a series of articles on HiveFest going back a few years ago now, and this is a similar event I attended a few years prior to that.

Exactly, we’re not short on info, and we can get plenty of it instantly. He didn’t mention AI which has only added to it all. Sharing your experiences and your spin is what makes things unique and interesting and what people are craving.

Another version of the same thing really but maybe we all need a reminder!
Not actually a word this week, but an action. This is where we discuss some ridiculous things, a sort of ‘Room 101’ scenario.
It’s that bloody heart gesture with your hands. You know what I’m talking about, making a heart shape with your thumb and fingers and proudly pushing it into people’s faces, everywhere.
It might have started off a little cute but it’s been done to kingdom come now and not only has it lost all meaning, it’s getting a bit weird. It also ties in with what we were talking about a few weeks ago with the whole love and light brigade.
I did find a good gif that summed up my thoughts on this, but alas, good taste doesn’t permit me to share. It’s someone of a not too great mental disposition attempting it but getting a bit wrong (I didn’t search for that specifically but that Google with its wacky antics thrust it upon me).
Suffice to say, maybe time to move on. Or mix it up, keep things interesting ;)
A more quick-fire edition this week (either that or a couple of recent ones have been ‘slow-fire’?!), keep it a bit punchy you know.
Next up I’ll likely be adding a series of articles on an Asia trip, a couple from my Madrid days and some marketing related pieces, so look out for all that.
Then of course the next Museletter which will round things up along with any chit-chat that may be of interest… either next week or go for a bumper edition the following week. Then we’ll settle into a nice weekly offering…
