A Heads Up Alert
What is happening in NY State most likely will be happening in NJ as well. Holtec International, LLC already owns three sites on the East Coast - The Pilgrim Plant in Massachusetts, Indian Point in NY, Oyster Creek in NJ. Holtec also produced the alarmingly defective canister system installed at San Onofre in California. They plan to move from being decommissioning licensees to becoming operating owners. All for AI, bitcoin mining, and anything else President Trump is pushing. Certainly not to benefit the public but only industry.
Our first guest presenter is Tim Judson who has been the Executive Director of the Nuclear Information Resource Service since 2014 - a non-profit organization devoted to a nuclear-free, carbon-free world. NIRS has been a hub of information on everything nuclear including States and National issues and has international affiliations. Tim has written a series of reports on nuclear bailouts and sustainable energy and is a much sought after presenter for many panels and national events.
Our second guest presenter is Mary Beth Brangan, one of the directors and the producer of the hit movie S.O.S. - The San Onofre Syndrome: Nuclear Power's Legacy. The film depicts how concerned Southern California residents came together to shut down an aging nuclear power plant, confronting the alarming reality of tons of radioactive waste near a popular beach only 100 feet away from the rising sea. S.O.S, spotlights the essential role citizens must play to ensure that public safety must be a top priority. She will be sharing clips of the movie with us.
