IRAN (Again. Again. Again.)

In keeping with my last column (A DEAL WITH IRAN? DON’T MAKE ME LAUGH), I have to weigh in today with another pithy, self-penned, dictum as regards Iran (similar to the last one: EXPECTING TO MAKE A DEAL WITH IRAN IS AKIN TO POURING WATER INTO A COLANDER AND HOPING IT PERFORMS AS A BUCKET).

Today, I wish the Trump Admin would realize this:

ATTEMPTING TO NEGOTIATE PEACE WITH IRAN IS LIKE TRYING TO CALM A HORNET’S NEST IN YOUR BACKYARD THAT YOU’VE BEEN BEATING WITH A STICK.

Again, I say: It’s only gonna be boots-on-the-ground that solves this permanently - and a permanent solution is the only true solution. Otherwise these are just masturbatory exercises - with expenditures of munitions and a measure of lives… again and again (repeat). Boots-on-the-ground will be lives, too, and munitions, too, in the short term, but will break this stupid cycle. (Hormuz open. Hormuz closed. Upcoming end-of-civilization. Ceasefire. Upcoming bombing of bridges and powerplants - ceasefire. Negotiations. Walkouts. More negotiations. Failure).

A WWII-style occupation of Iran is necessary. NATO should participate - but won’t… until possibly the backside. They won’t be in on “D-Day,” and they won’t be in on a mimic of their fight across Europe. They’ll show up for the “May ‘45” post-facto administration of peace and the subsequent occupation and emplacement of representative government. We’re used to that.

The invasion and occupation of Iran makes for sweeping out the theocratic totalitarians who… um… want to kill us… and a good measure of their own people, too. An extant, governing, body that wants America (our Constitutional Republic; our separation of church and state; our exercise of freedom) DEAD. DEAD. DEAD. It is not hyperbole. You cannot negotiate with that. It is their essence, their arrogance, and their ignorance. We must kill those theocratic, totalitarian people whose mission is to kill you. The irony is we’ll have to be over there even as they are infiltrating us here.

Speaking of here: I ask Trump, Vance, Hegseth, and others involved in Epic Fury to stop referencing “God” and “Jesus Christ” in the course of your official duties and from the station of your place in my/their own/your government. It is unseemly (and not just because I find all religions repulsive).

We are supposed to have separation of church and state in this country. Honor and adhere to that - period. Our Founders were a mix of theists, deists, agnostics, atheists and simple pragmatists- and were quite clever in establishing an ambiguous, amorphous, unknown (i.e., undefined) “Creator” as the source of our rights. (I’ll write more on this later - it was actually Man who hammered “rights” out over long trials and errors). But, we can wish our military members well, and good luck, and instill confidence in their mission, without yammering about God and Jesus - the mission being to hold ground and gain ground, and otherwise, as often articulated, to break things and to kill people… advancing until we vanquish the enemy and build an Iran that is for, by, and of the people. (Watch that “friendly” fire, please!).

Failing to drop the religious references from podiums that we pay for, we will soon go from being described as a “Judeo-Christian nation” (an oxymoron if I ever heard one, and something that makes my skin crawl for a host of reasons) to an “Islamo-Judeo-Christian” nation. You can project where that will go with your own imagination… so stop screwing this up, please. You know it will happen - you do - once a tipping point is reached in terms of the demographics - absent my recommendation here. Get wise and exercise your duties like you’re a Constitutionalist.
