J Pingo Lindstrom · Pingo!

Is this your fastest guide on how to create great, structured adventures for any role-playing game, using simple but powerful techniques? It might be!

11,000+ words, 76 pages—a complete guide to develop, write, and creatively mold your adventures and campaigns.

The book consists of these sections (and a few more):

  • How to Structure an Adventure

  • What is a Story?

  • Conflict Creation

  • NPC- & Location-based Conflicts

  • The Story Base

  • Act Breaks and Why

  • Structure of a Novel

These first sections all deal with what a story is, how they are most commonly structured and why, how to focus on the central conflicts, and how to actually create conflicts.

This all leads into the point of this book: The 6-Point Story Structure

This section explains each of the six structure points in great detail, over several pages. Not only will you be able to use this structure to form your adventures—you will also understand why, and how to focus on each section when actually playing that adventure. These sections go into much more detail than I have previously done, for instance, in the Generic Adventure Magazine #1, where this structure was first presented.

The last section is: Pitch Cards

The Pitch Cards have been used in my Sci-Fi / Cyberpunk Mini Adventure Cards. The Pitch Cards use the 6-Point Story Structure as its base, but with a two-line pitch sentence at the top of each card.
