I watched this documentary a couple months back and was thinking about it again tonight after watching a few different pottery & ceramics documentaries over the past week. It's so interesting to see that every culture has some form of pottery, and their own unique techniques. Chinese Porcelain has probably been one of the most influential worldwide though. I remember going to a museum a couple…
My dad asks me to go get him Menudo every weekend! But he's usually not that lucky. He always orders it without any Hominy though, which I think steals from the whole experience. I'm not the largest fan of tripe or intestines and the like, but will occasionally eat some in a soup like Menudo or Phở. I'm personally more of a fan of Pozole or Sopa de Albóndigas if I'm grabbing Mexican soup.
Had this one stuck in my head for almost a week, but couldn't remember anything of the lyrics. Then my mom recognized the song when I showed her a short clip I saw of someone hitting another guy while working out, getting a weight thrown at them, then throwing a handful of their shit around the room. The perfect song for the video. Carpenters have quite a few good songs - also girl drummers always…
Such a classic puzzle game that has spawned countless clones. This game, Tetris, and other classic puzzle games really tickle my fancy - but man is this one stressful! I feel palms getting sweat and my heart-rate going up whenever I play it. I remember going to an arcade and challenging a friend on a machine but it was so damn hard to see I couldn't tell what colour was which, but that just made…
Museum time again!!! This one is pretty neat and useful - all about different Plugs and their Sockets around the world. I honestly have only used the plugs over here in the US (Called NEMA, I've found out), but have received a few different adapters in a couple products. I know some people have strong opinions about plugs (recalling this Tom Scott Video), but the ones I enjoyed most after browsing…
The real Spider-Man movies! I recently went through and watch all three with my parents, although we've seen them all before. I may try to convince them to watch The Amazing Spider-Man and the MCU Spider-Man Series.I was talking to a friend, asking if they had a favourite super hero (neither of us do), but I mentioned that these were one of my favourite super hero series. As with most things, a…
Last Poll Response: I thought reviewing a food each week would be pretty interesting and unique, as well as a bit easier than some of the other options. Will start doing a "Food of the Week" starting tomorrow (Thursday July 15). It also seems that Pollcode ended their services, so the next poll will be postponed indefinitely, but hopefully not long. If you have any suggestions as an alternative,…
Been quite delayed getting out the normal weekly updates, but don't think I've missed a week yet,,, (I did forget to post the new poll on the homepage, but some of y'all still voted on it!) I have been dealing with a family situation but didn't want to give up on the site during the time. It can be a way to express myself creatively or even a time capsule for some parts of my life....
A couple of dishes that my family ended up making for Easter. We had some Flank Steak, Potatoes, and Asparagus & Brussels Sprouts - all cooked on the Barbie. My sister also made some deviled eggs to snack on while the food was cooking, which all disappeared within the first hour of pulling them out. Also added some photos for the existing potato dish recipe.
I've been thinking about making a simple tool to edit images for a while. Just starting out with some mirroring and filters, but plan to add rotation and more affects. It's pretty slow/unoptimized at the moment, so lots of work to be done! Let me know if you see any weird bugs, or have suggestions for features!
Created a sitemap (still a WIP) to help aid people trying to search all of the different pages on my website. Also added a few new entries into the Neighbourhood.
I wanted to be able to provide an update to my site every-other day, and was not able to do that with my polls being bi-weekly. So I am coming up with this archive to show different games, typically old flash games, that I think are fun or unique. May also look into updating this one every week, at least occasionally.
I redesigned a few different sections on my site. Such as the tables on my Bookshelf and the Games & Tools pages. The tables should be much more consistent in design. I removed the navigation bar links to the games/tools, since there were soo many of them - and I would need to update each page whenever updating/creating/removing some of the links. So this should make it easier in the future for…
Added quite a few new buttons to the Neighborhood page. A lot of these I meant to add a few months ago, but was not able to when I lost access to my PC (I botched an upgrade, and broke an HDD with some backups, then took forever to reinstall my old SSD). But that's in the Past! I can manage my Guestbook again and access my e-mail and social. I am trying to catch up on some messages - so if you had…
Chip 'n Dale aren't characters I think highly of. They are annoying troublemakers in most instances, so it's nice to see them (try) to do some good in this series. Maybe it's just my dislike of the titular characters, but this is another show where I enjoyed the other characters rather than the main ones. In this case, the other Rescue Rangers are much more enjoyable to watch and see how they come…
Finally switching over to watching some Disney cartoons. There are a still few more Nick shows that I want to watchtrough and review, but will hold off on those for a while. I have never seen an episode of DuckTales before watching through it last month, and really wish I had watched it sooner! It was a great show with good comedy, action, adventure, and even some mystery. Whenever someone…
This was a Nicktoon that I remember watching, but was only able to catch it when I was quite young before school. So it was not something I remember well, but was looking forward to watching. I do not remember too much about this show other than the main characters and the fact that they travel through chalkboards to get into the ChalkZone. One reason why I think this series stuck with me so much,…
I added tabs to the diary page to separate longform blog posts, media reviews (which the current, separated page will be removed eventually), mental ramblings / microblog, and more to come! Hope you enjoy the design! I hope to continue expanding it and making it more personal soon.
I added a few new links for different guides that I've been using as I collect achievements in KH1. I also added a section for what I want to see in the next games - like a Bugs Life world and different characters. I also added some custom cursors. Hope to expand this more as I playthrough all the different games. Keep an eye out for an update to the SpongeBob shrine in the next few weeks as well
I went ahead and continued with adding sounds to my different games, so now most have sounds. Dragon Flight and Breakout probably won't be updated anytime soon, and Mine Clicker will have a bigger update in the future. Please enjoy the sweet sounds of pops, clicks, and fanfare!
I made a couple small changes to the Pattern Match game. Great new look, same great fun! The buttons are now circular and are arranged in a circle as well. Hopefully this looks nicer to most folks. I've also added sounds, with the option to mute, when you select the expected/unexpected button. I also plan to add other sounds to my other games in the near future
Added some new entries for Education / Learning channels and some food channels. I don't watch too much YouTube, but I am trying to keep this list to channels that I remember to check back in with every couples of months.
This has been my favourite dessert since I was a child. Tons of apples and a sweet crunchy top. It is great while still warm and served with some vanilla ice cream. I was able to take some pictures for this recipe as well. This is a great dish to make for Thanksgiving!
The last Klasky Csupo Cartoon from the 90s and 2000s that I've watched and reviewed. This was actually the first time I watched As Told By Ginger, although I remember my sister watching it when we were younger. I guess I was not this show's target demographic when I was a little boy, and possibly even less so watching this this in my twenties, but I absolutely loved the show! I'm a big fan of the…
CatDog is a show with some great humor, with an awesome voice-acting cast, but it seemed that there was a sort of formula when creating episodes for this show that make many of them feel almost identical. When watching this shown on TV as a kid, this was not something as easy to pick up on. So often is an episode's gag/punchline is Dog dragging Cat behind him through the city, smacking his head…
I had been working on this little clay figure for a few months, and finally decided to finish it off a couple weeks ago. I had all but the body created before I decided to add the head and bake it in the oven. I am surprised at how well it turned out. I had built it around an armature, so I think that helped. After baking it, I let it sit for a couple more weeks until today when I decided to paint…
Brother Bear is a movie I remember quite fondly as a child and, having re-watched it this week, I can say it absolutely holds up. The visuals, comedy, and story are near perfect and comes from an era of Disney that seemed to start a shift into better cultural representation and on-screen diversity. Although this movie is not perfect, such as the casting having a lack of actual native-Alaskans. I…
I remember watching Rocko's Modern Life as a kid in the 2000s when it would come on late at night. I quite enjoyed it then, but still consider this as a first watchthrough, even though I can recall watching this much more than shows like Ren & Stimpy or The Angry Beavers. I even remember catching the famous scene where Rocko works at the Phone Sex Hotline and Mrs. Bighead being on the other…
Although I remember watching an episode or two of this as a kid, I would not have been able to tell you anything about this show. I really did enjoy it through my first watch-through; if I saw Nick was airing re-runs, I would probably tune in to catch an episode or two. What I could not get over, in a good way, was the voices of Zim from Invader Zim and Salem the Cat from Sabrina, the Teenage…
Created a simple unit converter to go from one value to another. Currently only has distance as an option, but plan to add others like Temperature, Volume, Mass, Time, and maybe a couple others if I can think of any. Looking for any feedback since this one was a bit more technical, and am not too sure how accurate it is. Hope you find it useful or fun!
Like with Ren & Stimpy, Aaahh!!! Real Monsters was not a show that I remember watching too much when I was younger. I remember seeing it on a few times, and recognize the main characters quite well - but would not have been able to tell you anything about the character's personalities or any plot to an episode. Being from the Klasky Csupo, the same studio behind Rugrats and Rocket Power, the art…
Been a while since I have made a blogpost, or 'major' updates to the site. And that's why I'm writing this post! I have been quite busy with IRL work, needing to work extra hours and trying to catch up on sleep in-between...
Moving back away from the 2000s and into the 90s again, I recently watched The Ren & Stimpy Show. This is one of the other original Nicktoons, alongside Rugrats and Doug - which I remember both much more fondly than Ren & Stimpy. Infact, I did not watch Ren & Stimpy much as a kid. Having watched through the entire show for the first time, I am quite surprised this was one of the shows accepted by…
This was my first crack at making a drink recipe - although it's a little hard to call it that in my opinion. This recipe is just blending Watermelon along with some Lime Juice and Sugar, but it's a nice refreshing dirnk in the summer. Add to some sparkling water for a simple soda replacement!
This is a recipe my mom showed me to make when I was young, and it's something I love making for my friends. It's a yummy breakfast that does not take too much work, in my opinion. It also lets you make use of stale bread! I usually make this on a weekend every few months with an entire loaf, and warm the leftovers up in the toaster throughout the week.
Continuing with my Nickelodeon cartoon binge, I picked up Danny Phantom after completing The Fairly OddParents; both of which I consider part of the 'Big 4' Nicktoons of the 200s alongside Jimmy Neutron, and SpongeBob SquarePants. I absolutely loved playing the video game crossovers with these characters, and it is unfortunate that Danny seems to have gotten a considerably less amount of attention…
This is my first Salsa recipe! I had tried making it a few times before giving some out to my friends, who all seemed to enjoy it. It can be quite Garlicky, with just a little bit of heat. Feel free to adjust the amount of Garlic, Peppers, and the Consistency to make it your own!
I started watching this show right alongside Jimmy Neutron and, as I've mentioned on that review, The Fairly OddParents was one of the foundational shows from my childhood. Whenever I tuned into Nickelodeon, it was one of two shows, SpongeBob SquarePants, or Butch Hartman's other popular show from the era - Danny Phantom; which is the show I am watching next! It was interesting to see how unhinged…
Generate a random password with control over its length and type of characters utilzied. May expand to include all special characters, or to require minium count of a given character. I spent quite a bit of time on the design, so hope you find it accessible!
Added a section to the neighbors page for a bunch of different fanlistings. I have just started joining them, so there's only a few listed currently; and am still waiting to hear back if I've been accepted in. Will be adding more over the next couple days. I've also provided a short list of different networks and collectives where you can find other listings. Keep an eye out, I may create one of…
This was one of my most-watched shows a child, alongside SpongeBob SquarePants and The Fairly OddParents. I remember this show being really good, but after this re-watch I could not even say anything negative about a single episode. Truly a 5/5 show in my opinion. I have also recently discovered that this show was intended to have a fourth season, but got canceled before airing. Here's to hoping…
Another simple tool to convert text to its unicode value. Or provide a unicode value and convert it back to the ASCII/Text value. When covnert to unicode, pick from several different format options - depending on your needs. Currently only works with one character at a time.
A Simple Random Text Generator. You can use it to generate random Names, Words, Address, and e-Mails at the moment. I have set it up to produce 10 at a time to benefit anyone needing a list of test-data, or if you just don't like the first example generated. May expand the generators and options eventually
Finally got around to actually adding the alarm clock to my site, it was just an empty page for thet past few months. I am also now hosting the alarm sounds on the neocities server rather than accessing them externally, so they should be quicker to load as well.
Created a page to upload all the results from quizzes I've taken across various sites on the internet. I will also be adding results for my own quizzes once I get image results added to the sitcom personality quiz. Let me know if you have a quiz you'd like me to take and I will ad its result here!
My Second Quiz! There are only a few genres that I decided to go with for this quiz. Please do not take any results too seriously. Let me know what you think of the result you got, or if you experience any issues with the quiz!
Connect 4, Four in a Row, Find Four, Captain's Mistress - whatever you want to call it! The classic tabletop game is now on Piece of the Pie. Find a friend or family member, or play pretend, and check out the name game!
Think you'd make a good psychic? See how your Intuition holds up against this calssic number game! Make a guess if the next number will be higher or lower than the current number. You have three lives to get as many guesses right.
A sub-page under About that dispalys some details about my PC setup. Also includes some software recommendations and Youtube channels that I subscribe too. Will eventually list out all the devices I own here.
I bought a domain! The site is now pieceofthepie.online. Hoping this makes it look a little more appealing if it comes up in a search. Still hosted on Neocties! I've also updated the SpongeBob shrine to a full site, and plan to do that for Kingdom Hearts, as well as create a few new ones. Finally, I'm making a few Quality of Life changes to some of games. I made fonts in Hangman a lot bigger, and…
