After a Sundance premiere and screenings at prestigious festivals worldwide, the documentary American Doctor opens this weekend and is our pick of the week. We’ll see it at the Angelika on Tuesday (Aug 18).
Award-winning producer and journalist Poh Si Teng, in her directorial debut, follows three physicians who volunteer in besieged hospitals in Gaza during Israel’s genocidal campaign on the Palestinian population, and then they return home to the U.S. to share what they experienced and bring their fight for the lives and humanity of their patients to Congress and the media.
