With new campaign fundraising numbers out, I thought it would be fitting to repost my interview on education issues with Steve Hilton, candidate for CA governor, from August 2025. We had never met before this interview, and I was honored to land such a prominent guest. He earned my respect for being willing to have a conversation with seemingly anyone, anytime, on any platform.
Five months later, Steve Hilton is the leading fundraiser in CA’s governor race, with $4.1 million raised over the last six months. As the statewide primary approaches in June, Hilton’s recent fundraising is a sign of momentum! He raised about $1 million more than prominent Democrats such as Rep. Eric Swalwell and Katie Porter, and his total is more than double the nearest Republican candidate.
Hilton is passionate about fixing our education system, and I’m pleased to share this interview again ICYMI.
