Date unknown (most likely early 2000s)
Stars in her eyes,
and the almost-pale of her cheeks,
surrounded, or, if you will, framed,
by a crown of semi-dark hair,
flowing, as it were, when not pony-tailed:
viz., hanging in parallel, directed by wind.
The face-mask, neither too-tight
or too-loose, smiles at me,
reminding me of just exactly why I fell in love.
Shining, in its own way,
much like the moon, luminescent,
but not so much as to burn the eyes,
a pleasant brightness,
controlled, but nonetheless radiant,
displaying a beauty not easily ignored.
The smile, then, has its own language:
a direct conduit, leading from the heart,
not from the mind, as the tongue is wont.
But as bright a light as it is,
it is but a reflection:
the heart, that which loves,
produces a light, that,
though it is as bright as a thousand stars,
cannot be viewed with eyes,
or lenses, or other instruments of observation;
it can only be seen by another heart.
