Polly, what have you been doing to me

I thought it was you that would set me free

From all of the things that are bothering me in my mind

Polly, I felt as if I was betrayed

The drugs had quit working and I was afraid

And I wept aloud o'er the mess that you made of my mind

Polly, this isn't funny anymore

Feeling new pain that I've not felt before

Wondering what misery is in store for my mind

Polly, you know that this isn't OK

You were supposed to keep all this at bay

Suffering signals you've tried to relay to my mind

I need some help through this imperfect day

Don't tell me the pills will make it OK

Pharmacy, harm I see, when will it end?

Why should I take them when

all of this

points to the

same painful

feeling I've

tried and failed

to escape

it never

lets up, my friend
