Made with the T-8. I felt like I should record something so I started playing by myself until I hit the zone.
First Session
This was the first time playing my TB-3 together with an RD-6 back in 2021. Effects on TB-3: Korg NTS-1 Grit Delay + Flanger Mod. The RD-6 uses a little bit distortion from its buildin distortion unit. I quickly realized that the RD-6 Kick is way too silent, too calm, it just did not kick me in the guts at all. And the RD-6 ride cymbal is way too loud compared to the clap on the same channel…

That one is just the Roland T-8 when I received the unit. I tried to play it like I played the RD-6 while getting used to the menu diving. I'm happy I hit record when I did that one because what was initially just an experiment to get used to the features turned out quite well in the end. Random Sawtooth Journey
A longer jam with the T-8. I started with a known pattern and when I got enough of it I just hit Shift-A for a different random generated bass line. It's always a surprise what comes out of it (and it is not even said that the generated pattern has even 16 steps at all so it gets asynchrone quickly) but it was a fun ride jumping from one melody pattern to the next, knowing that with the next key…
Soundscapes
Made with the T-8. I had a fight with my son and to calm myself down I put on the headphones, hit a random bassline and shaped a beat around it. Then I realized what I'm listening to and put up my recording gear because I was fascinated with the sound I did. When I was done I was so happy I forgot about the fight entirely.
