A podcast on Artificial Intelligence from the perspective of someone in the design and visual arts field. “Artificial Imagination” is the first in a series of experimental Sum Total Podcasts intend to probe just where this new technology is heading. In this Podcast, almost entirely handmade except for an interview with the AI chatbot OpenAI, we take into consideration the obsession among the tech oligarchy for science fiction, and we look more closely at 3 iconic books: “Stranger in a Strange Land” (1961) by Robert A Heinlein, Player Piano by Kurt Vonnegut Jr.(1952), and E. M. Forster’s “The Machine Stops,” (1909).
