A few of this week’s highlights:
Spider-Man: Brand New Day came very close to beating 2019’s Avengers: Endgame for the best domestic opening of all time (and it might yet get there, once the actual figures come out later today).
The Odyssey passed 2008’s The Dark Knight to have the best gross after three weekends of any Christopher Nolan movie to date.
It is also now the top-grossing Matt Damon film of all time.
Hadestown: The Musical passed Hamilton (produced in 2020, released theatrically in 2025) to become the top-grossing filmed recording of a Broadway musical.
I Want Your Sex, which opened to $600,000, was the lowest-grossing movie to be #8 for the weekend since 2022’s Marcel the Shell with Shoes on.
