31 Ways to Romanticize August

Olivia Wickstrom · Petal + Hearth

Every month in 2026, you’re getting a calendar filled with one small seasonal activity to do daily.

August’s looks like this: Writing a handwritten letter to someone who made your summer better. Cooking a dish from a place you dreamed about visiting this summer. Preserving the season: drying herbs, freezing berries, or pressing flowers from your best bouquet. Making a list of everything summer taught you before you turn the page to fall. Saying yes to the last spontaneous plan someone throws at you before the warmer months end.

Nothing complicated, and most of it free, but all of it designed to pull you into the season you’re actually living instead of letting it blur past.

Because ✨ main character energy ✨ is presence. It’s knowing where you are in the year and living like it matters.

Those who feel most alive know what’s in season and what the moon is called. They have small rituals that belong to February, little traditions that only make sense in October. They treat each month like it has its own personality, because it does.

This calendar is how you start living that way, one day at a time.

Do all 31 days, or do seven, or do one. Pin it to your fridge and let it change how you see the season. A new calendar will arrive every month in 2026.

August is (almost) here and summer is transitioning to cozier moments. So let’s begin.
