Remember 15 years ago when someone made an experimental version of “The Shining” that played the movie forwards and backwards at the same time? Well for fun we decided to try that with our own movie, “Strawberry Mansion.”
Seemed fitting since our movie already plays with time, with certain scenes looping back on themselves. Of course it’s all very random, and nothing was planned, but it’s fun to see when things line up. Like when the fabric painting of the ship on the wall appears to be on the horizon of the ocean.
Or when Young Bella and Preble in a dream appear superimposed behind Old Bella and Preble in the real world.
Or maybe my favorite one, the first shot and the last shot lining up so the mansion is exactly where Preble is sitting in the pink room.
