Quick production update:
Our next episode, Surviving the Long Descent, is finished and will be released next week. I attempted to record it while away from my normal setup, but I wasn’t satisfied with the quality.
Societies rarely collapse overnight. More often than not, they decline slowly—rotting from the inside as they become corrupt, less competent, but more authoritarian.
And there’s plenty of evidence that we’re experiencing that now. I mean, let’s just scan the checklist with what’s going on in the country right now: economic and wage stagnation, insane levels political corruption and turmoil, trust in public institutions at an all-time low, extreme societal polarization - and that’s just off the top of my head.
In this episode, we’re going to look at the possible paths societies take as institutions weaken as they decline, then lay out a practical framework based on historical examples for how you can position yourself to survive, adapt, and preserve what matters in an age of growing instability.
To do this, I pulled some examples from contemporary history and other sources to help us sketch out a plan of action that viable and sustainable.
Rather than rush it out half-finished, I’m going to record it properly when I’m back home.
I think this may end up being the most important installment in the series so far.
Be on the lookout next week, gents!
