How to migrate OneDrive to Google Drive

Migration from OneDrive to Google Drive usually happens when an organization switches its entire productivity ecosystem to Google Workspace, making OneDrive redundant. There are many reasons that push the user towards Google Drive, such as Cost differences, a preference for Google's collaboration tools, mergers or IT consolidation, device ecosystem alignment (like Chromebooks), an expiring Microsoft 365 subscription, or compliance/vendor requirements.
This shift required moving all the OneDrive data to Google Drive. We can use a manual approach to move data, but it works better with smaller-sized data, and chances of data corruption are very high. I did it manually by first downloading all the required files from OneDrive to my computer. After that, I opened Google Drive, created the same folders, and uploaded the files there.

For a lot of data, I recommend moving files in smaller batches instead of doing everything at once. Once the upload is complete, just check a few files and compare the folder structure to make sure everything transferred properly. Keep the OneDrive copy until you’re sure the migration is finished.

Manual method works fine for smaller data, agreed, but I've seen it get messy with larger volumes (broken folder structures, missing permissions, timeouts halfway through). That's really the gap tools like Shoviv try to close, especially for bulk migrations.
