This post moved me deeply.
That's why I want to help as many people as possible see it.
For every every reaction, comment and sharing of the original post by Dr. Anja Possekel until tomorrow (July 31) at 7:00 p.m., I will donate 1€ to Ambulance for Kids
It is expressly not about my shared contribution, but about Anja's original contribution. Because every additional reach can help more people become aware of this important project.
Let's show together that solidarity can become visible

Emergency Life-Saving Training in Kherson, Ukraine
A few days ago, we shared why Ambulance for Kids, together with Be an Angel and Silni bo Vilni (Strong Because Free), was taking a step we never imagined would become necessary: teaching children in an active war zone how to stop life-threatening bleeding.
Today, we can say that our two-day pilot project in Kherson was an overwhelming success.
The children impressed us in ways we will never forget.
They were incredibly curious, eager to learn and determined to master every skill. They practiced applying professional tourniquets and trauma dressings, repeated every step over and over again, and even trained blindfolded—preparing for the possibility of a power outage during an attack, when there may be no light at all.
But what impressed us most was not how quickly they learned.
It was watching their confidence grow.
Throughout the two days, you could feel how helplessness was replaced by determination. The more the children realized that adults trusted them with these life-saving skills, the more they believed in their own ability to act in an emergency.
No child should ever have to learn these techniques.
Yet as long as children are forced to grow up under the constant threat of war, giving them the knowledge and confidence to save a life is one of the most meaningful things we can do.
This was only a pilot project, but after these two days, one thing is clear: the need is real, and so is its impact.
This project was also made possible by people and organisations who refused to look away.
Our heartfelt thanks go to Bravery Berlin e.V., who lent us an armoured vehicle, allowing our team to safely reach the underground shelter in Kherson, and who also provided first aid bags for the training.
We are deeply grateful to CADUS e.V., who donated 50 professional tourniquets and 200 energy bars, and to Blau-Gelbes Kreuz e.V., who provided another 20 tourniquets.
Each of these organisations helped in the way they could. Together, they enabled children living close to the front line not only to train with professional emergency equipment, but to gain something even more important: confidence, resilience and the ability to act when every second counts.
This is what solidarity looks like.
In the coming days, ARD (Das Erste) will report on this unique pilot project and the remarkable children who took part.
Their voices deserve to be heard.
One of the participants shared:
"I think it is very important that more children and teenagers in frontline areas receive this training. We children experience this brutality every day as well, and we need to learn these measures so that we can help ourselves and others in the worst-case scenario."
Another child said:
"I found everything incredibly interesting. I hope I will never need these skills, but if I do, I know what to do."
And Maria added:
"The most interesting part for me was learning how to stop severe bleeding, how to apply pressure and use bandages correctly to help someone with a serious injury."
These words from the children themselves show why this training matters ‼️
No child should ever have needed to learn these skills. But if we cannot change their reality, we can at least make sure they are not left helpless in it.
