Announcing The Paul Wells Road Show: Calgary!

This will be fascinating. I took a vote on whether to vote, and I decided there’s no place I’d rather be this autumn than Calgary. After Road Shows in Vancouver in March and Toronto in June, I’ll be at the Martha Cohen Theatre at Werklund Centre in downtown Calgary on Monday, Sept. 28.

That’s exactly three weeks before a bunch of referendums on Alberta’s future. So while I’m sure we’ll find a range of topics to discuss, I’m particularly pleased that my featured guest will be Premier Danielle Smith. I’m also thrilled that Calgary Mayor Jeromy Farkas will also be onstage for an interview. These two political leaders have had an eventful year and will be heading into a historic month. Both of these interviews are certain to generate immense interest well beyond our venue.

I’ll also toss the keys to University of Calgary economist Trevor Tombe, who’ll deliver an update on the economic position of Calgary and Alberta. And because it wouldn’t be a Paul Wells Road Show without music, I’m thrilled that Calgary’s own The Dust Collectors will bring their close harmonies and their Telecasters to the stage for a few songs.

That’s not everything I’ve got planned for this Calgary get-together, but it’s more than enough to let you know this will be a great night of conversation and celebration.
