The Fascism Rolls On…

“They’re All Dirty, Filthy Dirty”

Listen to the wild city-trashing language of the debased and depraved, orange-brushed wannabe dictator-for-life Mein Trumpf, who slammed “blue cities” during an Oval Office press gaggle last Monday. The Malignant One said that “The blue cities have something in common: crime, high crime, vicious, violent crime…But what [else] do they have in common? They’re all dirty. They’re filthy dirty.” Trump added that “blue cities.. smell” and have “broken storefronts” and “gross trees… any city led by a Democratic official[1] is disgusting.”

Never mind the ongoing decline in urban crime rates and the abundance of cheerful, clean, beautiful and inspiring spaces – alongside vast misery imposed by savage racial and socioeconomic inequalities and oppression that are unmentionable in fascist discourse, to be sure — in urban America.

There’s more than partisan hatred of the Democrats and their disproportionately urban constituents behind these anti-metropolitan comments. As the liberal scholar Jason Stanley noted in his widely read book How Fascism Works, anti-urbanism is a key ideological pillar of fascist ideology. Fascist politics idealize rural life as “morally pure and central to national strength.” Fascism sees cities as corrupt, racially polluted, sexually transgressive, disease-spreading, testosterone-draining, and dangerously cosmopolitan, outsider-influenced sites of nation-weakening leftism, liberalism, terrorism, and foreign “contamination.”

Never forget what the fascist Dear Leader said to 800-plus top military officers Trump when he and Hegseth called the imperial brass to Quantico, Virginia, last September 30: America’s leading adversary is “the enemy within” and the US military needs to understand the nation’s predominantly nonwhite and Democratic-run cities as war zones. “That’s a war too,” Trump said about his fight with the supposed menacing radicalism of the nation’s swarthy cities.

This is fascism.

“Anyone Who Opposes Remigration is a Traitor”

Elon Musk, the world’s richest man and first trillionaire, the virulently white-supremacist Afrikaner fascist who poured billions into Donald “Take Down the Metal Detectors” Trump’s terrible, Democratic Party-greased slither back into the White House in 2024. Three weeks ago, Musk posted the following in an anti-immigrant thread on his platform X: “Deal with traitors before invaders. They are committing high treason.” Three days later, Musk said this in another X thread: “Anyone who opposes remigration is a traitor.”

Let’s be clear what these words are about. “Remigration” is the European neofascist demand for the violent removal of nonwhite people to their supposed nations of origin, regardless of their citizenship status and whether they are immigrants or native-born. It means racist ethnic cleansing in response to the imagined “Great Replacement” of white Europeans and Europe-descended Americans with nonwhites. This is a notion rooted in the 1973 French fascist novel The Camp of the Saints, which inspired the budding youthful genocidal racism and nativism of top White House political and policy adviser Stephen Miller, chief architect of the Trump regime’s deadly mass deportation and concentration camp campaign.

Consistent with The Camp of the Saints and another influential fascist novel from the 1970s, The Turner Diaries (written by a leading white nationalist), Musk views white US and European remigration opponents (that would include the present writer and most of the people reading this essay) as “traitors” to “the West.” He thinks these “traitors” should be killed for aiding and abetting the spoilation of majority white national bloodstreams by accepting non-Caucasians into their lives and countries.

Never forget Trump’s Mein Kampfian 2024 campaign claim that nonwhite immigrants are “poisoning our blood.”

This is fascism.

“The Weakness He Projects”

MAGA influencers and remigration advocates including Steve Bannon and Laura Loomer, both of whose sway reaches into the White House[2], and other online far-right influencers were upset by the comments of the Department of Homeland Security’s Republifascist director Mark Wayne Mullin at the National Governors Association summer meeting in Oklahoma City last weekend. While reiterating his opposition to “amnesty,” Mullin said that the US immigration system needs reform and suggested expanding visa programs to address labor shortages in some industries reliant on immigrant labor.

“Within hours,” Newsweek reports:

“prominent MAGA figures flooded social media with criticism. Far-right MAGA loyalist Laura Loomer demanded Mullin’s removal. Conservative commentator Robby Starbuck said that ‘the weakness he projects is disturbing.’ Influencer Nick Sortor accused Mullin of sending mixed messages on immigration enforcement. Former Border Patrol official Gregory Bovino, who led the opening stages of Trump’s mass deportation plans alongside former DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, …[called Mullin] ‘an amnesty-loving, cheap plantation labor advocate’ [and]..also called for the removal of Trump’s border czar Tom Homan, arguing that both men should be replaced by officials committed to mass deportations. Bannon, whose War Room podcast remains highly influential among Trump supporters, told Politico that Mullin was ‘the wrong guy at the wrong time for the wrong job,’ arguing that an administration elected on promises of mass deportation should not be talking about immigration reform.”

Mullin has been under MAGA suspicion ever since he tried to suspend ICE’s practice of conducting deadly traffic stops after ICE officers murdered two legally resident and hard-working Latino motorists (Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in Houston on July 7, 2026, and Johan Sebastián Durán Guerrero in Biddeford, Maine six days later).

Never mind that deportations and immigration arrests have surged dramatically during the muscular RepubliNazi Mullin’s time atop Homeland Security. The Washington Post reports today that “July [of 2026] saw the most ICE arrests of Trump’s second term: an average of 1,450 arrests a day. Through the first seven months of the year, ICE has sent 238,000 people to detention facilities…Trump has never really let up on his campaign to deport as many undocumented immigrants as possible, despite the sinking popularity of his efforts after the controversial Minnesota operations.”

This is fascism.

To Make Dobbs “Permanent in Every Single State”

In a call to the Christian fascist organization Intercessors for America from the White House Faith Office last week, Trump’s personal attorney and Acting US Attorney General Todd Blanche said the Department of Justice and White House are working with federal health agencies “to get permanent solutions so the [Supreme Court’s 2022] Dobbs decision [which ended women’s half-century constitutional right to an abortion]becomes permanent in every single state” – that is, to enforce a national abortion ban. “We will have victory and it will be soon and it will be permanent,” Blanche said.

Blanche’s pledge was weak on specifics beyond suggesting restoration of a federal regulation requiring in-person dispensing of abortion drugs currently available through mail. Still, Blanche’s threat should not be laughed off. As Refuse Fascism’s Coco Das explains, “people didn’t think they were serious about overturning Roe [the 1973 Supreme Court decision establishing women’s constitutional right to an abortion for the next 49 years]and look what happened. Despite an election that Trump lost, Roe was overturned and these fascists are preparing for their next abortion victory.” As Coco Das elaborates:

“The fight around abortion rights isn’t about states’ rights. It isn’t about the rights of the unborn. These fascists make it clear every day they don’t give a fuck about actual children. This fight is about the role of women in society[3] and whether they will be free to control their own lives and reproduction or whether they will be subject to the domination of a patriarchy based on male supremacy and white Christian nationalism. For these fascists, Make America Great Again means turning women into breeders, subservient to their husbands and fathers, and to the church and the fascist state…This is fascism.”

Cassidy Caves on Blanche

Republifascist US Senator Bill Cassidy signified today that he will give Todd “Make Dobbs Permanent in Every State” Blanche the final Senate vote Blanche needs for the revolting confirmation of the demented fascist president’s cringing toady as the nation’s new Attorney General. Cassidy relented while admitting the Blanche is “not perfect,” quite the understatement given that:

· Blanche was the Malignant One’s personal lawyer, defending his boss’s attempted fascist subversion and physical overthrow of the 2020 presidential election among other federal and state Trump crimes.

· Blanche has covered for the adjudicated sex-abuser atop the nation’s government by purposefully and badly mishandling the release of the Epstein files.

· Blanche negotiated an epically corrupt settlement in Trump’s self-dealing suit against the I.R.S. The agreement included: (a) a $1.8 billion “compensation”/slush fund that could have been used to pay people rightly charged and convicted for their participation in Trump’s January 6 putsch attempt and (b) a shocking grant of immunity from tax audits to Trump and the Trump family businesses.

Cassidy claims to have been won over to confirmation by Blanche’s written promise that the J6 slush fund is dead even though it widely expected that the fund will go through once Blanche is installed. US Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) is correct: “the Department of Justice’s nearly $2-billion dollar slush fund — which likely would have rewarded Jan. 6 protesters [try rioters and putschists!]— is only off the table because this nomination is pending and the Senate has leverage.”

This is at best aiding and abetting fascism.

“The Next War That is Coming”

“We are preparing for the next war that is coming.” So said, Jonathan Cowan, the president of Third Way, a leading centrist Democratic group, telling The New York Times that his organization will make “a $15 million effort between now and 2028 to discredit democratic socialism….It is deeply troubling, “ Cowan added, “to see radical, far-left candidates winning in places that are potentially presidential swing states.”

This is Third Way’s response to a small number of recent primary election victories by progressive and reformist, social-democratish Democrats led by the new Democratic Party candidate for a US Senate seat in Michigan, Dr. El-Sayed. Notice that Cowan uses the same absurd language to describe these reformists that is regularly deployed by the MAGA Republifascists: “radical, far-left,” as if the Mamdani, AOC, Bernie Sanders, and El-Sayed Dems advocate a sweeping people’s revolution to remake America and the world on socialist lines and put humanity on the path to communism (a revolution we very much need if humanity is going to have any chances for a decent much less emancipatory future, by the way).

This is deep Weimar complicity with fascism. It is side-enlistment in the Amerikan fascist project. Here we are in 2026, facing an ongoing rolling coup that amounts to a many-sided fascist takeover of the federal government seeking to remake US capitalist-imperialist society on explicitly white supremacist, arch-patriarchal, xenophobic nationalist, and dictatorial lines and Third Way is gearing up for “WAR” with a small number of self-proclaimed “democratic socialists” who are in fact mainly progressive neo-New Deal and Great Society reformers at leftmost. And never mind that the preponderant majority of the US populace has long supported most of the “socialist” DSA policy platform, starting with universal health insurance.

1. US city governments es are very disproportionately run by Democratic administrations. Of the nation’s 100 largest cities, 67 have Democratic mayors. None of the nation’s ten largest cities has a Republican mayor. The division between “red” and “blue” America is largely between rural and metropolitan America. Blue states are full of red territory in their rural regions and red states have significant blue territory in their bigger cities and campus towns.

2. The far-right Loomer’s “research” led Trump to purge a number of individuals from the National Security Council early in the Trump47 administration.

3. A background MAGA goal, supported by Hegseth’s Christian fascist pastor Doug Wilson, is the end of women’s right to vote. Wilson, who has preached his filth on Hegseth’s Pentagon broadcast system and believes that the time of Black chattel slavery was the “best era in US race relations,” wants to repeal the 19^th Amendment to the US Constitution and impose voting by “household,” meaning suffrage for patriarchs.
