I took a break from writing to create in another facet. YouTube.
I think the only way to truly share an experience like this is long-form content. So for the first time in a long time, I started this trek with a plan to capture all of it. The highs, the lows, and what it actually feels like to spend three days on an active volcano.
This video took close to 40 hours to edit. The feedback so far has been incredible.
Standing 3,726 meters above sea level, Mount Rinjani is Indonesia’s second-highest volcano and one of the most iconic treks in Southeast Asia. Epic summit views, a turquoise crater lake, and hidden hot springs. But also steep cliffs, loose volcanic ash, unpredictable weather, and long punishing days.
This mountain doesn’t mess around.
My honest, unfiltered experience of the full 3-day/2-night trek. What it actually feels like, what I wish I knew going in, and everything you need to know before you go.
Filmed June 2026. Nothing in this video is sponsored.
I post when the adventure happens.
