Sons Of Liberty
Today we celebrate the Sons Of Liberty & the Daughters of the American Revolution. It’s a good bet you gave some thought to relatives who settled this country or emigrated here after it was established.
I like to gaze at the long arc of our country’s history and remind myself that the slaves were eventually freed, women were given the vote and child labor was outlawed.
I also believe we are not done with the causes of all mankind.

Sixty years ago today June 23, 1966 Barb and I graduated from Ridgewood High School.Little did we know then, that I would spend forty three years working there with both of our children also graduating from RHS.Once a Maroon always a Maroon!

Today, on the Fourth of July, we celebrate a freedom no one can take from us—the freedom to choose our response.
Our Founding Fathers understood it. Imagine General Washington crossing the Delaware on that freezing Christmas night. The circumstances were brutal, but their perspective stayed fixed on hope, purpose, and the future.
That same spirit lives today in Joe DiMeo. Every day, Joe reminds us that gratitude isn’t based on what we’ve lost—it’s based on recognizing the gift of what we still have. His perspective has become his superpower.
This Fourth of July, and on July 5th, 6th, and every day that follows, may we remember: we’re incredibly fortunate simply to wake up, breathe, love, and live another day.
The last of the human freedoms is to choose our response to any given set of circumstances.

Rock Hound
Took this photo from the dock on the evening of June 24. Lots of activity in the atmosphere on that night that created some dramatic clouds. Merrill got lucky and mostly avoided the torrential rains and hail. Other parts of the state, especially Green Bay, where Mav and I had just visited the day before, got hit pretty hard. It's been a stormy spring and early summer in Wisconsin.

Due to the threat of thunderstorms, and in the interest of public safety, tonight’s fireworks display has been canceled.
