Mid-Month Memo

As launch events go, this was a cracker!

There were only four copies of Anna’s Promise left at the end of the night, and, as you may have spotted on my social media, it was so busy that they had to turn the air con on!

To say the night was a success would be putting it mildly, and I am eternally grateful to everyone who came along. It was also great to meet new faces, including a book blogger who had donned the most beautiful ‘booky’ dress and made a point of coming along to meet me and join in the buzz of the evening.

A huge thank you also to Waterstones in Perth for hosting the event and doing their utmost, again, to ensure the launch went without a hitch. Ewan, the events manager, went above and beyond!

There was a steady stream to the till, which was fantastic for Waterstones, with quite a few copies of Abigail Returns being sold, too.

My youngest came to the rescue towards the end of the evening, buzzing around snapping photos. Unfortunately, quite a few had already left by the time I realised we hadn’t taken any, but that just gives you a sense of the evening.

You may know I also write a weekly newsletter for parents and carers of children who are reluctant to read. This has blossomed from my children’s writing and my experiences working with children with extra-curricular needs.

I was back behind my desk today after our break away. Italy was extremely kind to us with a mix of warm weather, gorgeous sunsets, and delicious food!

And, of course, I couldn’t be at lake Garda without having a trip to Verona to see Juliet’s balcony. I know it’s a myth, and maybe it’s the writer in me, but I just had to join the crowds and pay a visit.

It’s a funny angle, but at least this way, allllllllll the other tourists were out of shot.😆

Event wise, next up is Waterstones in Dundee on Thursday. It’s not too late to book a place through the shop. This one is billed as ‘In Conversation with Pauline Tait’ so there will lots to chat about.

Other than that, I’m catching up on admin, working with a couple of lovely new clients, and, of course, my thoughts are now in the depths of Amelia’s Home.
