Living for Today

I recently returned from a vacation at La Grand Sirenis Quintana Roo, México. I enjoy relaxing at the beach with my notebook and a pen. I let thoughts flow. The following came from a breezy morning at the beach, and I wanted to share.

Listening to Teddy Swims
I’m a fan of super music that speaks to me
On a sunny, blustery day
Waves high
Matching my mood

Freedom to move, to enjoy, to relax
Living for today
It’s where I am at this moment
Just being…
On blue and white lounge chairs

Shade a necessity
Sand raked
Mineral water
Lime
Life is better than good

Life speaks in volumes when we listen
It takes a while to settle the mind
To just let
Let today unfold as it wants
Letting it be easy

No agenda
No needs
No wants
Except food
It always calls

Appreciating today
All those who make
Our stay is fantastic, wonderful
Everyone smiles and
Shows pride in all they do

A simple life—working to please
Those they love the most
Smiles… that’s the appeal of today
And kindness
Simple, easy to share

The breeze warms my cheeks
And yet cools at the same time
Leaves—big, veined ones
Supply shade against a hot
Hot sun

Snow at home
A young fellow working here
His goal is to see snow at least
Once in his lifetime
I want to take him home

Show him snow
See the experience through his eyes
And remember what it would be like
To see snow
For the very first time in my life

I have memories of many firsts
Especially with travels
The first cruise on an enormous ship
The Regal Princess
She left me in awe

Memories of other destinations in Mexico
Weeks of fun
Frivolity
Laughter
With those I haven’t seen for years

Enjoy those days
The memories, those firsts
I think the Universe gave us memories
To revisit the good
Those wholesome days

Or to escape the past
When remembering
What we need not revisit
Or when remembering
Those thoughts that bring ease

What brings smiles
Joy
Contentment
Thoughts that fill
My life today

Across the horizon
Gentle breezes, we have no control over
But which renews the spirit

Reminding me that
TODAY…
Anything is possible
Maybe even for you,
too.
