What to expect at Sesilya, Coming to Negril's old spot on 5th Avenue

The triple-wide storefront on 5th Avenue between Garfield and Carroll has been the neighborhood’s most prime vacant retail space since Jamaican restaurant Negril moved out last year, and last week news broke about what will be moving into two of those spaces: Sesilya, a Georgian restaurant and bakery. I had the opportunity to chat with Georgian-born David Kitiashvili, one of the owners, and he filled me in on what we can expect.

“We’ve been working on getting this location since January,” Kitiashvili, who has over a decade of front-of-house restaurant experience in the city, told me. “We wanted to be in Park Slope because there aren’t many Georgian restaurants around there, and we love the neighborhood. It’s family-friendly, it’s cool, and with all the new construction on 4th Avenue, it’s a neighborhood that’s growing, too.”
