There’s a growing pushback against screens called “Digital Minimalism”, in which people use things like digital wellness apps, “digital detoxing”, and other practices to limit screen time.
To be honest, I think this trend is missing the actual problematic behavior and using an overly broad approach to address it, which removes the useful things phones and other devices provide, while making the change more dramatic and thus harder to stick to.
I believe the real issue is traditional social media and the various ways it’s been optimized to hold our attention and make us continue to return to it.
