To Not Put Yah to the Test

Entry #7 called us to reverential fear — the steady, covenant-rooted response of a child who recognizes that the Father is greater, wiser, and more faithful than they are. Humility. Trust. Restraint. Honor. All of it flowing from a relationship with the One who has proven Himself worthy of that posture.

Entry #8 now takes us to the exact opposite posture — and the moment in Yasharaal’s history that gave it a name.

“Do not put Yahauah your alah to the test as you did at Massah.” — Deuteronomy 6:16

The word “Massah” means testing. It marks the location where the people of Yasharaal, thirsty and frustrated in the wilderness, stopped trusting what they had already seen and demanded that Yah prove Himself again. The question they asked — recorded in Exodus 17:7 — was not, “Can you help us?” It was: “Is Yah among us, or not?”
