It was a much quieter week on the property and economic front wiith few releases. We did get the latest monthly internet job vacancy data, the latest labour force survey, Domain published their quarterly House Price Report for June 2026 and NAB published the quarterly Residential Property Survey for June 2026. I also published my half-yearly forecasts for housing prices which may make somewhat depressing reading. I am working on a piece that I hope to release next week which looks at the reasons to transact in a housing market in a downturn I want to highlight it isn’t all doom and gloom and there are still reasons for people to put properties on the market and to purchase properties.
Next week, we can expect the Consumer Price Index for June 2026, Building Approvals for June 2026,Producer Price Indexes (which include changes in construction costs) for the June 2026 quarter and the latest monthly housing credit data from the RBA.
For now let’s look at all the data from the past week.
