This month we’re just totally focused on the next book and charting how far we can get in a single month. Outlook seems very good here. We still have six days left in the month and I’m... 15 or 16 pages down? We could wrap this up by end of summer for sure.
I have a plan to write up something about various angles on the comics and some things I’ve been thinking, but I’ve been sinking all my time into the book here. At this point this is pretty clearly the most visually .... intense, or spiritually aesthetic perhaps, thing I’ve ever done so, let’s jump in and hit some of the bright colors.
We left off here. Herod killing all the first born. I tried to make this dramatic without making it too high octane for a kids’ book. I think the red being blood but also being just part of the motif with the sun and the king’s clothes and everything was a good way to do it.
